It has been so long since I wrote anything. I guess I'll just write snippets to update. So much has happened.
Both of my parents have had broken bones. Dad - compressed fractures in his back. Surgeon says his old, arthritic back could have more harm done to it than good should he attempt to touch it. Mom - fell and broken her shoulder - then fell again and broke her hip. With the latter she had a nail and pin put in. So she was in hospital and rehab for several weeks. So one or both were staying with me recuperating until about he first week in June.
Granddaughter Gabby had more heart surgery at Arkansas Children's Hospital. On June 12 they did a Fontan procedure on her. After being in hospital apprx. 2 weeks, she went home. Next day (saturday) she was in the ER with stomach pains and vomiting. On Monday she was back at Children's undergoing surgery to remove her gallbladder. Did I mention Gabby is just 7 years old? This resulted in an even longer stay in hospital. Tough on the little family. Her two sisters really missed her.
Meanwhile, my computer crashed. I hadn't backed up pictures for a year, and my Family Tree Maker for 9 months. C'est la vie.
Some good news now. Our garden has done well. Good crop of corn. Abundance of cucumbers. I have even pickled some. Tomatoes starting to come in now. The over-abundance of rain has been good.
We had a new deck built. The cooler summer has been appreciated there. Morning coffee has been enjoyed especially.
Oldest son took this picture (JKennedyPhotography). It shows off our new deck.
Youngest child came home from California to be with his family during Gabby's surgery. Really enjoyed his visit.
And, not to leave out daughter Mel and grandd- Mags enjoying the deck.
