APRIL PICTURES

Here is a Red Maple in bloom. We found this along a country road near Flood Mountain in Yell County. The next picture is of dogwoods from that same trip.

Here is a tiny butterfly on my pink petunia. The name of the petunia is Appleblossom.

A giant slug was crawling up my crepe myrtle tree. It's hard to get a perspective in a picture, but believe me, he was HUGE.

This is the "Big Eddy". A fishing hole from my youth on Dutch Creek.

This is an old picture of Trigger. (from my youth)--- Added here because of the tree in the background. In the next picture is the same tree fifty years later.

NUTHATCH PICTURES! FINALLY!

I've been trying for a long time to get a picture of the nuthatch flitting around in my yard. The first couple of pictures are a Brown-headed Nuthatch. He is not the one I was trying for, but I was glad to get the pictures so I could go to my bird book and identify him.

Here is the elusive White-breasted Nuthatch in my backyard. I was able to sit on my deck and snap a few pictures of him flitting up and down the tree. Yaaaaay!!!!

HOW ABOUT SOME ARKANSAS WILDLIFE

I call these "my deer". I see them every morning when I go for my jog. I think they tolerate me.

The following cardinal and eastern bluebirds have been busy in my backyard. I'm still hoping to get a picture of the nuthatch that just won't be still.
