DARDANELLE LOCK AND DAM

...and more river boats, tugs and barges.

The Cheryl Stegbauer.

The name of this boat was White Wing. The nameplate was hard to read. I kept wanting to call it "White Fang".

This boats nameplate said Cheryl Stegbauer. Another interesting name.

Early morning fog on the river. That morning the fog was hanging just over the river and then rising up the hill above. The park area was clear.

Here is a look in the other direction at the bridge connecting Dardanelle and Russellville.

This big one was Mr. Chuck. Interesting name for a boat.

BIRDING IN JANUARY

Here are some birds that enjoyed my feeders on a cold and cloudy January day.

This is a Slate-Colored Junco.

Here is a Ringed-Neck Dove on my deck railing. This is a common House Sparrow. (My bird book names a lot of sparrows, but this one is "common".
Here is a titmouse.
Here is the same titmouse being shy. They flit around a lot making it hard to get a picture. Here is a dove preening.

Here is a male House Finch. Here is a female House Finch

Here is an American Goldfinch.
A male American Goldfinch. In summer the "black mask" is actually a black cap.
A male Cardinal.
A female Cardinal.
Here is a Carolina Wren.
This large Siamese Cat was wandering around just outside my yard. He better stay away from my birds!
